XENQ: Portal to the User NodesThe Network will consist of several sub-nodes, each with a primary application area and a broad skills base, ranging from fundmental studies to practitioners of applied research. Each node will maintain the breadth of of its membership by active recruitment of local and international researchers; membership of several nodes will be encouraged. Workshops and site visits will be the primary tool of encouraging interactivity and cross-fertilization. Visits from international experts in these fields will be particularly encouraged for workshops and broad-based visits to interested sites across Australia. Web and email communication will be encouraged to address particular and topical issues. The fostering of this research will develop Australian expertise and be embedded in the international community. After consultation of the membership, the initial configuration of the XENQ Nodes is to be:
