SimPhysics Applet

This applet enables you to plot the electric field produced by a chosen arrangement of charged particles.

Hints on choosing a browser: If you are using a Mac, use Internet Explorer to run this applet, but PC users should try Netscape first.

Just click on the button to get started.
You can display:
  • the force on a test particle due to the arrangement of charges (diagram to the right; Vector At Point under vectors menu)
  • the addition of electric forces to show the total force acting on the charged particles (below; Forces On Particles under vectors menu)
  • a vector field showing the forces on a test positive particle across the space (below right; Vector Graph under vectors menu)
