MarcShop is a teaching resource for physics students at the University of Melbourne studying the structure of matter (funded by CAUT in 1994). It also comprises a stand-alone simulation of a nuclear micrprobe, as shown in the screen image from this program opposite.

The learning approach taken in this Web-based part of the project is one of presenting students with a question, encouraging them to discuss it and predict an outcome, then examining an animation which represents the outcome.

To run these pages, you need a fast network connection (each page contains a QuickTime movie), the QuickTime Plug-in and well as QuickTime installed on your computer (Macintosh or PC).

The project was developed by Jon Pearce and David Jamieson. Further information is available from Jon's Home Page or by email to j.pearce@physics.unimelb.edu.au.
